Australia: Equipeople has access to at least 50 positions at any one time in Australia through our partner organisation, Stablemate Staff Management. These positions are in the instructing, grooming, racing and stud industries and are all with, well-respected employers within the horse industry. We also have access to work permits that are not normally available. With these permits you do not need to have a bank balance of at least €3175 as with a holiday visa. These permits will allow you to work in Australia and are easily obtained once you are between 18-35, however we can occasionally obtain work permits for people over 35. Therefore before leaving Ireland you will have a definite job to go to together with a valid work permit. You will have a comprehensive description of the position, including location, salary, accommodation, perks etc. The name, address and telephone number of your employer is on your job offer confirmation. Only if you are happy with all the information and that it is the position for you, then you accept it. You will also have the services of a well respected agency throughout you stay included in the original fee, in the unlikely event that you have a problem. If you want to work in a particular area because you have relatives there, we will do our best to accommodate you, but naturally we cannot guarantee anything.

America: Equipeople in conjunction with Communicating for Agriculture (CA) is offering the first exchange programme between Ireland and America. Communicating for Agriculture is a government recognised, non-profit organisation in the United States whose aim is to promote the exchange of ideas and travel between young agricultural people throughout the world. The programme is open to people between the ages of 18 and 28 who are single, in good health and have at least one year's practical experience in the equine industry. |
As this programme was devised to enable young people to see and experience a different culture, participants are considered to be trainees. Although the majority of people we send to America are very experienced and are going to a responsible position, for the purposes of the visa they are known as trainees. Jobs are available in all aspects of the horse industry and in all areas of the States. Normally CA has positions available in jumping, eventing, dressage, racing and stud yards. Placements are normally for 6-12 months and allow time for some travelling. All the employers (called hosts on the programme) provide accommodation and at least $600 dollars per month with many employers paying far more. At the moment we have some very good positions available with some of the leading yards in America. Whatever you experience we can provide a position for you.
Other Countries: Perhaps you have always dreamed of another country and another way of life. Equipeople has contacts in many different countries and although we have a very established exchange programmes with Australia and America we can often find that unique job in other countries.
